Our client wanted to increase the security of their boarding house by receiving real-time activity feeds of door status, entry logs and an after-hours alarm.
We customised their current system’s capabilities, focusing on simplicity and reliability. Using biometrics technology,
we replaced access cards with finger-
print scanners, reducing administration time and maintenance costs, as well as lost cards.
We ran new cabling to perimeter doors, integrating the biometric device into existing software. Utilising the existing alarm system, we programmed each
area to suit the client.
We advocated an App-based solution to introduce hierarchal and user control.
The App enables managerial users to open/close doors, monitor door status, authorise/un-authorise entry and arm/disarm doors from their devices. It produces real-time event logs, allowing daily-use monitoring. The client plans to roll out this system across campus.
Urban carried out all work inhouse, from project planning to material selection, labour, programming and commissioning. IT provided port forwarding assistance
and an integrator provided programming.
